Museum of Fine Arts Budapest Buys Cezanne Watercolour
The Museum of Fine Arts has bought a two-sided watercolour painting by Paul Cezanne for $750,000 at an US auction with a Hungarian government subsidy, museum director László Baán announced on Thursday.

The auction was held by Christie’s in New York at the end of last year.

One side of the canvas shows the Swiss Colombier chateau, while the other side shows a study of a group of trees. The watercolour was painted in 1890.

The public can view the picture at the Museum of Fine Arts exhibition titled From Cezanne to Malevich, ongoing until February 13.
