Food Inflation in Hungary Among EU's Highest
In Hungary, food prices were 10.4% higher than in January, the fourth highest rate in the European Union, which has an average inflation rate of around 6.3%, 444.hu reported.

Based on Eurostat data, only the Baltic states preceded Hungary in that respect.

Considering only food, Hungary is on the top of the price rise list in the EU, according to agricultural economist György Raskó.

For bread, milk, fruits, beer, and alcohol-free beverages, the prices rose most in Hungary.

Furthermore, the country's position had worsened compared with other EU members.

For instance, in June, Hungary led only in bread and meat.
