Why New Campus of Sport University in Budapest’s 12th District Will Cost Ft 1.5 Billion More

Construction of the campus of the new Sport University in Budapest’s 12th District will cost Ft 1.5 billion more, raising the total amount to Ft 19.5 billion, the university announced on the EU public procurement website.
The contract for the expansion project was won by Záév, a construction company owned by Lőrinc Mészáros, in August 2020.
An ambulance station on the construction site at 56-58 Alkotás utca is to remain in its place even after the new campus is built. Although this was approved by the government in June 2020, the costs are rising now due to this extra demand.
A multifunctional sports hall of 12,300m2 will be erected on the site, along with an underground garage for 200 cars. The facility will be able to host 1,700 spectators.
