Panoramic Posta Lookout Tower in Buda Open to Public
The lookout tower soaring above the historic Postapalota building overlooking Buda hub Széll Kálmán tér is open to the public.

As well as admire panoramic views from the rooftop terrace, visitors can relax in the attached café.

The news was announced on the website of the Money Museum, which now occupies the building below.

The former Buda Postapalota was designed by Gyula Sándy and opened in 1926. The Hungarian Postal Service moved out in 2008, leaving this fortress-like building empty for over a decade.

In 2018, it came under the ownership of the Hungarian National Bank, which converted into the present-day museum. Since opening on 15 March, 2022, it has welcomed 100,000 visitors through its doors.

The Money Museum is also preparing a special event for the Night of Museums on 24 June, something that is ‘worth every penny’, as its website cryptically states.
