Virtuoso "Four-Hands" at Costes Downtown Budapest

In Hungary, it is rare to have the opportunity to enjoy dishes celebrated by such a high-profile guest, which is why the virtuoso "four-hands dinner" by Molnár Márk and his guest, Christian Le Squer, promises a unique and unforgettable experience with a 10-course menu specially prepared for this occasion at the Costes Downtown restaurant.
Molnár Márk, the Executive Chef of Costes Group, has worked with renowned chefs from prestigious restaurants around the world. He has honed his skills at the previously three Michelin-starred Taillevent restaurant and in the kitchen of L'Arpège, also a three-starred establishment, alongside Allan Passard.
He has also worked for Ferran Adriá, the "apostle of molecular gastronomy," at El Bulli, as well as at Zuma Miami, Zuma London, and in Vietnam and Japan, including the famous Nobu Tokyo.
During his time in Paris, Christian Le Squer took notice of him. "Christian Le Squer, the three Michelin-starred chef and co-owner of the legendary Le Pavillon Le Doyen, somehow stumbled upon my resume.
When he called me to work with him as a creative chef, I couldn't believe my ears because working at Le Doyen had been a dream of mine since the beginning of my career," recalls their acquaintance.
Since then, Le Squer has become the head chef of Le Cinq, the three Michelin-starred restaurant located at the renowned Four Seasons George V Hotel in Paris, and was also named Chef of the Year in 2016.
Reviving their old connection, Molnár Márk approached the French chef with a bold idea: "I recently visited Chef Le Squer and shared with him the concept of a four-hands dinner in Budapest. Somehow, we reconnected after all these years while I was working on the other side of the planet."
For one night only, we can be part of a "virtuoso four-hands" experience that goes beyond their old friendship and represents a significant milestone in the professional development program of the Costes Downtown restaurant.
"Inviting Le Squer was not only about creating a memorable dinner event but also about an important aspect of the professional life at Downtown. The presence of the French star chef and his colleagues offers an opportunity for a professional training that allows our kitchen staff to learn and further develop," said Gerendai Károly, co-owner of the Costes restaurants.
On June 24th, the Costes Downtown restaurant is preparing for a major event in the Hungarian gastronomy scene, where Molnár Márk and Christian Le Squer will collaborate on a four-hands dinner.
The 10-course menu will feature dishes such as Brittany langoustine, hake with pumpernickel, jalapeno, and mangalica pancetta, or Black Angus beef with fermented mushroom threads.
