Shots Fired as Ukrainian Draft Dodgers Flee to Hungary
Ukrainian border guards stopped 12 border violators with warning shots on Tuesday at the Ukrainian-Hungarian green border, local news website Kárpáti Igaz Szó reports, citing the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service.

According to the website, the border guards noticed the men of military age in broad daylight, who were walking towards Hungary and did not stop when ordered to do so.

The guards eventually induced them to stop with several shots fired into the air.

Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, men of conscription age cannot leave Ukraine.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the men were residents of Zakarpattia.

Official proceedings were launched against them for attempting to cross the border illegally.

The operation also led to the identification and arrest of the man who transported the men to the border for approximately Ft 155,000 each.
