Pedalo Tragedy: Young Foreigner Drowns in Lake Balaton
A young foreigner drowned in Lake Balaton, near Siófok, on Saturday, the water rescue services told MTI on Sunday.

The youth was with four others on a pedalo before becoming submerged. People on a nearby sailboat phoned for help and a patrol boat was on the scene within minutes.

A rescue boat arrived later and divers brought the youth to the surface but were unable to revive the foreigner.

Detailed report of the Water Rescue Team is available here.

When people think of Europeans migrating abroad, they often imagine sunny destinations with Mediterranean beaches in Southern Europe.
