Irishman Given 14 Years in Prison for Killing American During Sex in Budapest

The metropolitan court of Budapest has sentenced an Irishman to 14 years in prison for strangling an American woman to death during sexual intercourse.

The man was sentenced for manslaughter. The decision is not binding.

The man, 38 years old at the time, met the 31 year old US tourist at a Budapest bar on the night of Nov 4, 2014.

They went to the man's lodgings, where he beat and strangled his victim while sexually assaulting her.

After she died, the man put her body in a suitcase, drove to western Hungary and hid the suitcase in a wooded area near lake Balaton.
