Hungary Shatters National Heat Records on Tuesday
The national heat record was broken three days running on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the national weather service HungaroMet said.

After a warm night, the dawn temperature was 10.5 degrees Celsius in Napkor, in Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County, breaking the 1983 record of 9.8 C measured in Szekszard.

In the afternoon, 19.9 C was measured in Nagyatad, in Somogy County, a degree above the 2002 record of 18.9 C registered in Rabagyarmat.

Budapest Heat Record Broken on Monday, 27 January

National and Budapest 90-year heat records were broken two days running on Sunday and Monday, with daily highs over 10 C in most of the country, the national weather service HungaroMet said on Tuesday.

Two weather stations in Bacs-Kiskun County, Fulophaza Hattyus-szek and Kiskunmajsa, recorded 17 C on Monday, breaking the 16.8 C record measured in Pecs in 1936.

In Budapest, the Ujpest station picked up 14.2 C on Monday, breaking the 13 C record registered at the Budapest Orszagut station in 1936.
