28 Thousand to Start 19th Ultrabalaton This Weekend - Expect Traffic Congestion
More than 28,000 team members, individual runners and cyclists will start at the 19th NN Ultrabalaton this weekend.

According to information from the organizers on Wednesday, the full capacity was filled in less than three minutes after registration opened.

Runners can complete the 211-kilometer distance individually, in two-person relays, or in teams of up to 13 people, starting from Balatonfüred.

This year's new event is the unusual double-lap race - 422 kilometers - and the expanded charity program, supported by a total of 18 million forints. Six experienced Hungarian ultrarunners will be participating in the former.

Due to the event, traffic congestion around Lake Balaton can be expected, especially around the transition points. Race director Róbert Kulcsár asked those living and traveling around Lake Balaton to be patient and attentive during the event.

Runners use the bike paths, but a significant presence of companions can also be expected.
