Metro Lines Will Operate Until 1 am on Weekends & Until Midnight On Other Days Later This Year
Budapest's public transport system will see significant upgrades to improve accessibility and convenience for residents and tourists, according to online economic publication Világgazdaság.

For the first time, metro lines will operate until 1 a.m. on weekends and until midnight on other days later this year, reducing dependence on private vehicles and assisting nighttime travelers.

The Budapest Transport Center (BKK) will also introduce new “metro bus” routes to better link outer districts with metro stations.

Additionally, 24-hour bus lines will rise from three to 12, greatly enhancing night transport options.

To improve airport access, BKK will extend the 100E bus line to Nyugati Railway Station and allow passengers with valid passes to use the service without extra charges, creating a more affordable and convenient link between the city center and the airport.
