MAV Group Issues 9,600 Refunds for Delays in Hungary Over Last Few Days

State-owned passenger transport company MAV Group has issued 9,600 refunds since the launch of a compensation system for delays on June 1, the group's CEO said in a post on social media.
Under the system, passengers travelling with a single ticket who arrive more than 20 minutes late are entitled to a 50pc refund, while passengers with passes get a 10pc discount off their next purchase of a pass if they arrive more than 20 minutes late on five occasions during the month.
Zsolt Hegyi said the refunds added up to around HUF 10 million. He added that about 3pc of passenger service had been delayed in recent days, in line with the annual average.
