Pepsi Drinks Production is Returning to Hungary
Hungarian mineral water company Szentkiralyi Magyarorszag inaugurated a plant at its base in Szentkiralyi (C Hungary).

The investment is a milestone in a HUF 11bn development programme launched in 2021 that will boost the company's bottling capacity.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said the state had provided Szentkiralyi Magyarorszag with HUF 3.8bn in investment support. As a result of the investments, the bottling of Pepsi products, which Szentkiralyi Magyarorszag distributes, is returning to Hungary after a long hiatus, he added.

Szijjarto said Szentkiralyi had remained a Hungarian brand in a large international cooperation.

He noted that the food industry is a strategic sector in Hungary, employing more than 140,000 people.

"In the past ten years, 287 large food industry investments have been made in Hungary with government support, worth a total of 1,400 billion forints, and these have also contributed greatly to the fact that in ten years we have reached a point where one million more people are employed today than a decade ago," he said.

"One of the consequences of these many, many food industry investments was that this sector became truly crisis-resistant, as there were no supply problems in Hungary even during Covid," he added.
