Independent MP Hadházy Targets Orbán Linked Property in Next Protest on 2 August
- 21 Jul 2025 2:33 PM
Speaking at a protest against legal changes concerning the assembly law and the transparency of politics in central Budapest last Saturday afternoon, the MP said that the PM had pledged to ban media outlets and civil organisations, as well as this year's Pride march, however "the Pride event attracted several hundred thousand" and the government "did not dare" to go ahead with the transparency bill, either.
Hadhazy said his demonstrations had "achieved little, but too much to stop". While the government has not withdrawn the contested bills, the weekly demonstrations have "annoyed the government and showed the opposition what they needed."
Hadhazi said his next protest would be held at Hatvanpuszta on August 2, at an estate "which the prime minister said belonged to his father and had nothing to do with him, adding that it was a farm building".
