'Priceless' 1675 Manuscript Stolen from Budapest Now Finally Returned to Hungary
The New York County District Attorney’s Office has returned a "priceless" 1675 manuscript to Hungary that was stolen from Budapest, Peter Szijjarto, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, said in New York.

Speaking after receiving Zacharias Traber’s 1675 manuscript entitled Nervus Opticus Sive Tractatus Theoricus, Szijjarto emphasised the respect Hungary and the United States both had for traditions and cultural heritage, expressing his gratitude for the manuscript written by the Jesuit monk.

"We greatly appreciate this gesture, and we greatly appreciate that this is the first antiquity which had been stolen from Hungary that could now return to Hungary with the help of the New York County District Attorney’s Office," Szijjarto said, according to a ministry statement.

The minister welcomed that US President Donald Trump’s return to the White House had "ushered in a new golden age" in US-Hungary relations.
