Revealed: Number of Candidates by Main Opposition Parties in Hungary for 2026 Elections
The Democratic Coalition will field candidates in all 106 parliamentary constituencies because there are hundreds of thousands of people who want a change of government but will never vote for a right-wing party, president Klára Dobrev announced.

Stating that left-wingers and liberals also need political representation, Dobrev said she would give them guarantees that she will fight with all her might for the values they represent.

The Tisza Party will enter the 2026 elections with 106 candidates of its own, to be selected in a lengthier process.

Party leader Péter Magyar announced on Klubrádió on Friday that it will select 318 candidates, as three people will compete for the party’s nomination in every constituency.

The Momentum party decided in early June that, in the interest of helping a change of government it will not field candidates in next year’s parliamentary elections.

The Two-Tailed Dog Party decided last spring to go it alone in 2026 but will not have 106 candidates.
