Mayor Erno Gorgenyi said the grant support covered half of the investment cost. He added that the company, with a headcount of 350, had operated profitably since 2013.

Last year, the company's after-tax profit was over HUF 479m, he said.

Managing director Zsolt Daka said the investment aimed to secure the company's competitiveness for the long term, cutting unit costs and boosting efficiency and safety, he added.

Gyulahus had revenue of close to HUF 13bn in 2024, public records show.
