The available support consists of a maximum of HUF 5m non-refundable grant and an interest-free loan of HUF 5m. The amount of the grant and the loan must always be the same. Even with the largest amount of support, applicants only need to provide HUF 526,000 of their own resources to start the projects.

The ministry noted that the maximum term of the interest-free loan will also be extended to 15 years from 12 years.

The ministry said it has received 8,300 loan applications till now for HUF 46.6bn of financing. Some 4,300 applicants have already received HUF 18.2bn of funding.

Applicants can receive support for the external thermal insulation of family houses, the replacement of windows and doors, the modernisation of the heating or hot water system. In the future, additional works supporting the main goals will also become eligible for funding.

The developments must still achieve at least 30pc energy savings, according to a credible, documented comparison of the initial and final state.
