Festival of Folk Arts, Budapest Castle District, 17 - 20 August
From 17 to 20 August 2025, the spotlight once again shines on traditional craftsmanship, artisans, and creative communities at the stunning setting of Buda Castle.

This beloved annual event welcomes local craftspeople, member organisations, international artists, and designers. Whether you’re returning to reconnect with your favourite makers or visiting for the first time, prepare to be immersed in a vibrant cultural celebration full of tradition, creativity, and colour.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to support Hungary’s artisan communities and admire the enduring beauty of age-old crafts. Don't miss out on this unique and inspiring experience!

Location:

The festival takes place across the historic civilian quarter of Buda Castle, including:

  • Tóth Árpád Promenade

  • Táncsics Mihály Street

  • Tárnok Street

  • Szentháromság Square and Park

  • Dísz Square
     

Admission is free as part of Hungary’s national holiday celebrations!

This year masters from Azerbaijan will arrive to the festival. In the workshops of the artisans, visitors can learn traditional folk crafts.

  • 16:30–17:00Songs to Mary: Pitti Katalin & Regnum Marianum – concert by winners of the Marian Song Competition

  • 18:00–19:00In the Month of Promise… – Dance show by Alba Regia Ensemble

  • 19:00–19:15 – OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY

  • 20:00–21:30Kerekes Band & Dalinda: Joint concert & album premiere

  • 17:00–18:00 – Award Ceremony of the Association of Hungarian Folk Artists

  • 18:00–19:00 – Performance by the Hungarian National Folk Ensemble
