Master Good Making HUF 72 Billion Capacity Expansion in Hungary
Poultry company Master Good is investing HUF 72bn to double capacity at its plant in Kisvárda (NE Hungary), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó announced.

The government is supporting the investment, to create 600 jobs, with HUF 22bn, Szijjarto said in a statement issued by his ministry. He added that the investment would present a "huge opportunity" for Master Good's local suppliers.

Master Good accounts for around half of Hungary's poultry processing capacity, and about half of its output is exported. That export ratio will rise with the capacity expansion, Szijjarto said.

Hungary's food sector output reached HUF 7,000bn in 2025. Output is double domestic demand.

Meanwhile, Minister highlights need to scale up farm sector

Construction and Transportation Minister Janos Lazar said the contribution of Hungary's farm and food sector to GDP should be scaled up at the AgroMOVE conference in Mezohegyes (SE Hungary).

Lazar said the economic contribution of the sector, key to Hungary's food self-sufficiency, could be boosted, similarly to that of the automotive sector over the past 15 years.

Among proposals to achieve that goal, he said farm sector technology developments had to be continued, young farmers needed to be recruited and water management should be integrated with the farm ministry's portfolio.

He also proposed support for putting local farm products in school cafeterias and ensuring that the value chain, from farm to store shelves, should be in Hungarian hands.

Lazar heads the board of trustees of the Land of Future Generations Foundation, which owns the national stud farm in Mezohegyes and grain elevator company Concordia.
