Now in its third decade, Jazz Spring continues to set the bar impressively high. For the 22nd edition, the festival once again serves up a rich and refined selection from across the jazz spectrum.

Programmes on Friday and Sunday at the Festival Theatre spotlight the sound of tomorrow, offering audiences a glimpse into the genre’s exciting future. On Saturday, the focus shifts to the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, where a new chapter unfolds in a success story spanning over 25 years – this time with strong Hungarian connections.

The festival opens on 8 May with the captivating voice of Michael Mayo, whose unique blend of jazz and neo-soul creates an effortlessly atmospheric sound. His album Fly resonates with timeless sincerity, while his live performances are known for their magnetic energy.

On Saturday, Paris-based Electro Deluxe takes to the stage at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall. Renowned for their dynamic live shows, the band promises an electrifying performance, joined by the powerful brass section of the BJC Big Band.

Closing the weekend on Sunday is acclaimed Indian bassist Mohini Dey, a leading figure in contemporary fusion jazz. She will be joined by Hungarian keyboardist Dániel Szebényi, together pushing the boundaries of the genre to thrilling new heights.
