'Hijacking' Attempt by Budapest Mayor of Celebration on Day of New National Assembly in Hungary?

Peter Magyar, leader of the election-winning Tisza Party and prime minister-elect, said that it was harmful and impolite that Budapest's mayor Gergely Karácsony is "hijacking" a celebration on May 9, the day when the new national assembly is formed, by organising a celebration concert the day before.
Karacsony announced Sunday morning on his social media page that a "system closing celebration concert" will be held on Friday, May 8, starting at 6.30pm at the foot of the Chain Bridge.
The mayor said many people feel that the past decade and a half has been taken away from them and there are those whose lives were "attempted to be ruined", mostly because they stood up for some important social cause.
Karacsony said this era can be closed by remembering and expressing gratitude, so he encourages everyone to go to the concert.
In a comment to Karacsony’s post on Facebook, Magyar expressed his incredulity at the timing of the concert and enquired about the financing of the event.
In a seperate comment he said "it is particularly harmful and impolite to organise a party one day before the national regime change celebration on May 9, almost at the same place".
Update: Karácsony decided against holding a standalone event in his most recent update.
