Valley of Arts Festival to Feature 4,500 Programmes in Summer Near Balaton
One of Hungary’s most beloved cultural events, the Valley of Arts Festival, returns for its 35th edition between 24 July and 2 August 2026.

Held across the picturesque villages of Kapolcs, Taliándörögd and Vigántpetend, this 10-day celebration will once again transform the Balaton Highlands into a vibrant cultural hub, offering more than 4,500 programmes.

Annual Celebration of Arts & Culture

Visitors can explore an extraordinary mix of genres, from visual arts and theatre to music, dance, literature and contemporary media. This year’s programme places extra emphasis on light art installations and immersive experiences, alongside traditional favourites like folk music, jazz, and classical performances.

International and Hungarian artists alike will take to the stage, including Swedish singer-songwriter José González, as well as popular Hungarian acts such as Kispál és a Borz, Carson Coma, and Bagossy Brothers Company.

New Highlights for 35th Anniversary

The 2026 edition introduces several new venues and experiences, including immersive light installations at the restored monastery ruins in Taliándörögd, and a special collaboration bringing elements of the Bánkitó Festival into the programme.

A standout moment will be the “Völgy Symphonic 35” concert, where leading Hungarian performers join forces with a full orchestra for a unique live production.

Much More Than Just Music Festival

Beyond performances, the Valley of Arts is known for its intimate atmosphere, creative workshops, talks, and community experiences. Visitors can enjoy craft sessions, literary programmes, open discussions on social topics, and even wellness and sustainability-focused activities.

The festival is cashless and eco-conscious, with initiatives such as composting and environmentally friendly catering continuing in 2026.

Easy to Explore via Free Bus Service

Free shuttle buses connect the three host villages, making it easy to explore the wide-ranging programme across locations.

With its unique blend of creativity, community and countryside charm, the Valley of Arts remains Hungary’s largest and most diverse arts festival – offering unforgettable experiences for all ages.
