Richter & Hetero Labs Partner on Generic of Ozempic in Hungary
Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter on Wednesday announced the signing of a global collaboration agreement with Indian peer Hetero Labs on the joint development, registration and commercialisation of a semaglutide injection, a generic of the anti-diabetic drug Ozempic.

Hetero Labs has already made "significant" development investments, including technology setup and registration batch manufacturing, Richter said.

Regulatory filings are underway, with European Union and United States submissions planned for 2027, it added.

The collaboration leverages Hetero Labs' market reach in the United States and emerging markets, as well as Richter's commercial infrastructure across Europe and Central Asia, while maintaining optionality for future European manufacturing by Richter.
