Rubik Watches Magyar Play with Queen of Chess in Budapest at US Event
Judit Polgár, the most successful female chess player of all time, played against Prime Minister Péter Magyar at the US embassy’s Independence Day reception in Budapest on Thursday, as inventor Ernő Rubik looked on.

The US is celebrating the 250th anniversary of its declaration of independence this year and the embassy in Budapest hosted the Freedom 250 reception in that spirit.

Polgár, the best female player in the history of chess, is the subject of a Netflix documentary entitled Queen of Chess first aired last February.

The US embassy in Budapest also reported the reception on Facebook and thanked the prime minister for his presence.

No official announcement was made about how the chess game ended.
