Passionate about inclusive education and human rights, her research explores the barriers children face in accessing quality education, with a particular focus on minority languages and societal perceptions.
She actively supports global efforts to ensure access to education for women and girls. In her free time, she can be found frequenting the old, beautiful libraries downtown or planning her next solo travel adventure.
1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
I've been in Hungary on and off for almost a decade. I came here out of sheer curiosity after seeing a picture online.
2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Yes, Spain.
3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
The buildings. Art Nouveau and grand Austro-Hungarian buildings that make you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale.
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
A visit to the Musical Fountain on Margaret Island is a must-see experience and it's free.
5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Lángos.
6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Tomatoes.
7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Babakocsi.
8. What do you miss most from home?
Surprisingly, the weather.
9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
Librarian
10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
Youtuber.
11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Turkmenistan
12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?
Backpacking around South America.
13. How many countries have you visited?
80 so far and over 65 of them I have travelled solo to.
14. What was your favourite band, film, or book as a teen?
The Strokes, Any films from the 80s and The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

Planning all the way.

Books.
17. Morning person or night person?
Morning person.
18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
I feel most strongly about the right to education as a human right, especially because nearly 244 million children around the world are currently denied access to schooling.
19. Buda or Pest side?
Pest is the best.
20. What would you say is your personal motto?
"Whit's fur ye'll no go by ye" - A famous Scots saying meaning what's for you will not go by you.
