Now on, this super summer carnival incorporates many European performers as well as exotic guest ensembles from overseas including Asia. On until 22 June, around 12-15 international ensembles with nearly 300 artists will perform in Budapest and around Hungary.

The new permanent exhibition follows a winding path just as the Danube flows through the city. The blue-green color of the river on the walls of the exhibition guides us through the flow of time, from Roman prehistory and the time of the Hungarian conquest all the way to the present.

The name "Budapest" is the composition of the city names "Buda" and "Pest", since they were united (together with Óbuda) to become a single city in 1873. One of the first occurrences of the combined name "Buda-Pest" was in 1831 in the book "Világ" ("World" / "Light"), written by Count István Széchenyi.
