Last Sunday saw the start of the 15th Jewish Summer Festival – one of Budapest’s most 'prestigious annual programmes of cultural events'. Every year the festival attracts tens of thousands of local visitors and tourists to the capital and its synagogue, which is said to be one of Europe’s most beautiful. The Hungarian Government has also provided funding for this programme of cultural events.
Identity Card To Double As BKV Pass In Budapest

The cabinet plans to introduce an identity card in 2014 for Budapest residents which will also be a BKV pass, Népszabadság reports. The card will carry all data now featured on separate cards, such as address, social insurance and tax numbers, under an agreement reached by the Administration Ministry and the Budapest Transport Centre.
