MOL, as chief sponsor of the project, will provide Ft 122 million of the estimated Ft 250 million annual costs of the system. The remainder will be paid by the city, which will receive the revenue from the rentals.

The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) and public transport company BKV have deployed defibrillators at all stations of the city’s ‘red’ and ‘blue’ metro lines. The two companies and Budapest city council said in a joint statement on Tuesday that the life-saving equipment may be used only by 270 BKK and BKV employees, as well as doctors or nurses trained in their use.
