This year the annual big swim across Balaton will be organized on Saturday 29 June. Last year more than 7,300 people participated, swimming the 5.2 kilometre distance between Révfülöp in the north and Balatonboglár on the southern shore of the lake.

Organizers decided – The 35th Lidl Balaton Cross Swimming is going to be held on Sunday, July 9th.
The Hungarian Meteorological Service (OMSZ) forecasted almost ideal weather for Sunday. The expected water temperature is around 25-26 degree Celsius .

Index.hu writes that a new record was set at the cross swimming competition of Lake Balaton; two Hungarians who are to compete in Rio later this year, Márk Papp and Éva Risztov, claimed the victory amongst the male and the female contestants.

The Balaton Cross-Swimming will be organized on Saturday 2 July. More than 5,000 people have registered for the swimming event which will cover a 5.2 kilometre distance between Révfülöp in the north and Balatonboglár in the south.
