A remarkable Zsolnay vase was sold at auction in Budapest’s Virág Judit Gallery on Sunday for 19 million forints (EUR 62,700), setting a new record for the work of the renowned porcelain and stoneware maker.

Italian artist Alberto Storari worked at BAF September-October 2013, his one-man show entitled Frame Story will be accompanied by an open studio event of BAF permanent artists: Dóra Juhász, Levente Herman, Márta Kucsora and Sándor Szász.

Although it is more difficult to get to R33 on foot or on a bike than to the ruinpubs of the 7th District, those apparently empty factory buildings are so exciting we simply had to go there and see for ourselves.

Today’s topic is the Hungarian police’s decision not to investigate the attack on a Roma family in Devecser, one of the villages that earlier fell victim to the red sludge that covered acres and acres of land around a factory producing aluminum. I didn’t deal with this specific incident except as one in a series of anti-Roma attacks by far-right groups during the summer of 2012.
