As the result of a Hungarian initiative the Art Nouveau World Day has been celebrated since 2013, and is already part of the official programme of the international Art Nouveau organisation Réseau Art Nouveau Network. On this day, several institutions from all over the world join in a series of programmes presenting this characteristic architectural and decorative style of the turn of the century.

The 6th annual Gere Jazz Festival takes place June 9-10 at the Gere Attila Winery in Villány on the Gere Estate. Our former pastor, the Reverend Canon Denis Moss will be guest of honour and speaker. The date being celebrated is the 25th anniversary of St. Margaret’s becoming licensed as a church in Hungary.

On Friday, several buildings in Budapest were lit up in green in celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day. On Sunday, the Irish national holiday was celebrated by a parade around the city. The Hungarian capital has joined the campaign of the Irish Tourist Board to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day worldwide.
