Long-term expat Mr. Douglas Arnott was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the UK’s New Year’s Honours list for 2019, having served as the Chairman of the Robert Burns International Foundation in Hungary for the last five years.

In my mid 30's I hit the middle aged wall where stress increases, the stomach drops and the back constantly hurts. Suddenly I couldn't do things so easily like ski or hike. My wife introduced me to Pilates and quickly the stress dropped, the stomach firmed and the back felt great.

According to data from 2017 published on Thursday by Eurostat, the standard of living in Hungary is still well below the EU average. When it comes to consumption, Bulgaria is the only country performing worse.
