The introduction of a congestion fee by the summer of 2013 may seem early, but it is unavoidable to raise funds for the financing of the Budapest transport company BKV, Budapest mayor István Tarlós said yesterday. The European Union set the congestion fee as a precondition for subsidising metro line number four, and it was accepted by the previous city leadership, Tarlós said last week.

The verdict can be appealled within eight days. Dániel admitted the act, but said it was not a misdemeanour but a way of expressing political opinion.

Telenor will pass on added costs from the new telephone tax to subscribers unless one of the two taxes hitting the sector is phased out, communication director István Kutas announced yesterday. Telenor will face an additional Ft 1 billion burden per month, if the new tax, the second sectoral tax, begins July 1, Kutas observed.

As of 30 May 2012, all passengers of easyJet, Germanwings, Jet2.com, Norwegian and Wizz Air will depart from Terminal 2B of Budapest Airport. Passengers of these airlines will arrive at Terminal 2A (from Schengen countries) or at Terminal 2B (from non-Schengen countries).
