With the cooperation of German, Romanian and Hungarian museums, a new website was launched this week on the life and history of Swabian communities along the Danube. Project manager Tamás Szalay told a press conference in Pécs that the initiative aimed to strengthen cultural, historical and economic ties between the German diaspora and Hungary, Romania and Serbia.

The decommissioned barge that serves as a concert hall, restaurant and bar, has been towed to Komarno (Révkomárom), southern Slovakia, to a former ship-building yard that now only undertakes minor repair jobs.
