Orbán Asks ChatGPT for Help in Writing His Speech
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán asked the well-known AI platform ChatGPT for help in writing a speech on the European Competitiveness, Hungarian Economic Neutrality conference, delivered on Wednesday. In his speech, Mr. Orbán confessed that while ChatGPT offered some insights, there is no substitute for genuine intelligence yet.

Viktor Orbán, during his speech on economic neutrality, humorously recounted his experience using ChatGPT to craft his remarks. He instructed the AI to “write a speech on economic neutrality” in a “belligerent, determined style” on his behalf.

Within minutes, ChatGPT produced a speech that the Prime Minister rated 4 out of 5.

It read: “From all corners of the world, there is the sound of clashes. Economic powers are straining against each other… But we Hungarians cannot drift blindly in this tumultuous process.”

While he acknowledged the AI speech’s quality, Mr. Orbán cautioned that the words felt somewhat empty and emphasized that reliance on AI alone is insufficient. He remarked, “I note in parentheses that the jobs of the copywriters are in danger, as can be seen from this, and I think that those of journalists are even more so.”

This reflection highlights his belief that human depth and understanding are crucial for fully grasping economic concepts.

He further challenged the audience, questioning whether Hungary could achieve economic neutrality in a world of economic divisions, implying that AI could provide insight when uncertainty arises.

He quoted ChatGPT’s assertive statements about Hungary’s independence and determination, concluding that while the machine’s words are compelling, they lack the human touch: “well, if that is what a machine with no imagination, no soul and no heart says, then it is up to us, who have imagination, heart and soul, to say at least that much.”

Appearing online long after XpatLoop.com this ‘government related’ source states its aim as "to provide a complete, unbiased picture of Hungary”. It continues by acknowledging this “does not necessarily mean that our writers do not have their own opinions, sometimes reflected to a degree in the articles they publish” - and so it's really worth readers here keeping that in mind. Another stated aim is to become ‘the leading English-language news portal of Hungary’, a position held for well over 20 years by good old independent XpatLoop!
