Hungarian oil and gas company MOL will lower its wholesale petrol price by 2 forints per litre on Wednesday, industry insiders told MTI. Prices at the pump will fall to around 329 forints (EUR 1.05) per litre as a result.

Data from the National Transport Authority indicate that 40,095 vehicles in Hungary are affected by Volkswagen’s diesel emissions scandal, Development Minister Miklós Seszták said. In his response to independent lawmaker Tímea Szabó in parliament, Seszták said the transport authority automatically certifies new cars based on approval by an EU member state regulator.
