A local referendum will be held in the 12th District on May 17 on a proposal to build tourist attractions in nature conservation areas in the hilly Normafa area. A forestry school, ski slopes, a ski lift, a playground, road renovations and public lighting are all included in the plan. According to the feasibility study, the project will cost Ft 6.9 billion.

I am trying to help”, Orbán said in connection with environmental pollution at the depot.

A majority of the local council of Zugló, Budapest’s 14th District, yesterday objected to the government’s plans to build several large new museum buildings in the City Park. They said they agree with the idea of renewing the City Park, which lies within the district, but reject the construction of new buildings arguing that they would be harmful to the character of the park.

Canadian immigration authorities are visiting Miskolc to find out the reasons for Roma emigration and why so many of them decide to seek refuge in Canada. The Roma primarily left from the “numbered streets” district of the city, which local authorities plan to demolish to make room for a car park as part of the expansion of the town’s sports stadium.

Miskolc local council on Thursday supported the introduction of a so-called sheriff system whereby every district of the city will have a local council law enforcement officer. The number of staff members performing law enforcement duties for Miskolc local council will be raised to 160 on the basis of the council decision.

Mellow Mood Group signed a contract with architectural firm Archikon on the renovation of the landmark Párizsi Udvar in Budapest. Párizs Property, a member of Mellow Mood Group, acquired the historic building in the city centre from the 5th district local council for 2.1 billion forints (EUR 6.8m) last spring.
