The celebrations will begin on August 19 when the 'Street of Hungarian Flavours' will open at noon between the Buda side of the Erzsébet híd and Bem tér. Awards will be presented for Hungary’s best cake, sugar-free cake and ice cream. Pop music will play on Clark Ádám tér and on Bem tér from 8pm. Book Week In Budapest: 333 New Titles

A total of 333 new titles from 98 publishers will be for sale at the 83rd Book Week which runs from Thursday through Monday on downtown Vörösmarty tér. About 250 book publishers from Hungary and abroad will present their offerings in Budapest, said László Péter Zentai, director of the Hungarian Book Publishers and Distributors Association.

Before Monday, 1 March, my only connection with the little country in the southwestern UK was a joke t-shirt I once had with the logo 'Save the Wales' emblazoned across its chest. And I watched the Welsh rugby side beat England at Twickenham a few years ago. Otherwise, nothing. So I was flattered to be recently invited to the first ever St. David’s Day celebration here in Budapest.
