Victims of "Google Fraud" to Receive Compensation from MBH Bank in Hungary

MBH Bank on Thursday said it will pay compensation equaling 70pc of the damages to customers who fell victim to a Google-fraud-type phishing attack between March 15 and May 31, 2025, even though the problem was not the vulnerability of banking systems, but sensitive personal and banking data obtained from bank clients and fake banking pages advertised in Google search.

Parliament recently voted and passed a resolution to restrict digital devices in schools. The new law aims to ensure that children can only rarely use their digital devices as learning aids with the permission of their teachers, but not at during all their time at school.

The government is relaxing rules with a view to boosting wind power generation, the energy ministry said on Friday. The new rules reduce the protective radius around wind farms to 700 meters in line with European norms and it will be easier to obtain a permit from Jan 1, the ministry said in a statement.
