Szijjártó is attending a meeting of EU and ASEAN foreign ministers in Bangkok where the representatives of 28 EU countries and 10 Southeast Asian countries met. The number of guest nights spent in Hungarian hotels and guesthouses rose by an annual 5.3% to 4,379,000 in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Guest nights spent by Hungarians climbed by 6.8% to 2,384,000, while foreign visitors spent 1,995,000 nights, up 3.6%.

Pénzügykutató expects Hungary’s GDP growth rate to slow to 2.2% this year from 3.1% in 2015, due to dropping investments, before accelerating to 3% next year, the economic research company said in a forecast. Performance in the first half of this year has made it clear that growth will grind to a halt as soon as the inflow of EU funding stops, the researchers said.
