The aim of the open call is to support the improvement of talented artists and offer them an opportunity to present their works. In Hungary the Christmas tree is decorated on Christmas Eve, 24 December. In addition to the usual decorations, also chocolate pieces in bright wrappings are used. In the Hungarian tradition the Christmas present is brought by baby Jesus in the evening. Religious people follow the (Jesus kid) tradition and they go to the midnight mass, too.

Rembrandt and the Painting of the Dutch Golden Age, a large-scale exhibition to run in the Museum of Fine Arts from 1 November surveys the period of 17th-century Dutch art, one of the golden ages of European culture. The exhibition is built around Rembrandt, the greatest master of the period, by whom 20 masterpieces will be on display.
