Wholesale vehicle fuel prices in Hungary will rise about 6-13 (EUR 0.02 – 0.04) forints per litre from Saturday, when new rules on excise tax take effect. The price of petrol will rise by 6.4 forints per litre, bringing the price at the pump to around 340 forints.

According to the June legislation if the average global price of Brent oil in a designated period is below 50 US dollars per barrel then excise tax of fuel rises.

Consumer prices in Hungary fell by an annual 0.1 percent in August, dropping for the fourth month in a row, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday. The decline slowed from 0.3 percent in July. CPI dropped on a 4.1 percent fall in prices for the category of goods that includes vehicle fuel.

CPI dropped on a 4.1% fall in prices for the category of goods that includes vehicle fuel.
