Budapest taxi drivers demonstrated against ride-hailing service Uber. The drivers blocked traffic in two lanes out of six on Elisabeth Bridge with a demand that Uber be banned and regulations enforced. This is the sixth time Budapest taxi drivers have mounted a demonstration against Uber since January.

Tourist buses will be banned from the Buda Castle district from May 15 because of the renovation of the Carmelite convent, the future home of the Prime Minister’s Office. The thousands of tourists who visit the Castle are to be taken there on Budapest public transport buses.

Foreign ministry state secretary László Szabó said the government aims to improve infrastructure between Hungary and neighbouring countries. Szabó said there are a total of 100 border crossings in Hungary, sixteen of which have been established since 2010.
