The Hungarian State Opera House is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Austrian- Hungarian border with an international conference on Friday and a gala featuring renowned singers Anja Kampe, Piotr Beczala, Ferruccio Furlanetto and Andrea Rost on the day after.

President János Áder hosted a gala dinner in honour of Ernő Rubik, who invented the famous magic cube 40 years ago. Rubik told MTI earlier that he had originally designed the cube for his students to help them improve their sense of space. Several hundred million Rubik’s Cubes have been sold all over the world since the first model appeared in 1975.
