Hungarian President János Áder has set October 12 as the date of the local elections, when Hungary’s national and ethnic minorities will also elect local representatives. The number of permits issued for new home construction rose by 17.9% to 4,009 in the first half of 2014, fresh data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show. New permits were issued for a total area of 453,000sqm, up 13.9%. The number of new home completions rose 21.8% to 3,265 in the first half of this year.
