The pre-selection process of the Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy has ended. Today a jury of renowned chefs reviewed the submitted applications and decided who can participate in the Hungarian Selection of the most prestigious gastronomic competition of the world to be held this December in Hungary.

The radical nationalist Jobbik party said that Jean-Claude Juncker is “trying to kill Europe”. Dániel Z. Kárpát, the party’s deputy group leader, said the EC president’s proposals were “baffling”. Z. Kárpát said that by calling for EU member states to grant refugees the right to work, Juncker revealed that “he wants to keep illegal migrants in Europe forever”.

21-year-old Hungarian musician Éva Muck has been voted the world’s best female bass guitarist at a competition held in the United States. The “Queens of Strings” event, which took place for the first tame between 22 January and 1 April, began with contestants submitting a video of them playing the bass guitar, together with a brief CV and a recent picture showing the instrument they play on.
