Éva Dignisz Gál First Woman To Be Named Wine Maker Of Year

The Hungarian Academy of Wine presented the Winemaker of the Year award to Éva Dignisz Gál at a gala luncheon on Sunday. Dignisz Gál, the first woman to have won the title grows grapes with her husband, Csaba Gál, on 70 hectares on Csepel Island, south of Budapest, and ten hectares north of Lake Balaton.

József Vágó (45) CEO of SÓLYOM Hungarian Airways Ltd. was born in Budapest, Hungary. He started his aviation career in 1987 at the Russian Military Aviation Academy as a trainee fighter pilot. After finishing the Academy with excellent results, he became a pilot (lieutenant) in the Hungarian Air Force.

Hungary's annual festival of chocolate and sweets will be held for at Millenáris in Buda, this year it's all focused on dark chocolate. Switzerland is the guest country at this the 3rd such sweet event, and will exhibit world famous Swiss chocolates, plus several sweets manufactures from Switzerland will introduce themselves and aim to entertain visitors with lectures and product demos.

The Áts family is a long-established name in the Tokaj wine Region of northeastern Hungary. Károly has followed in his father’s footsteps, and is now rated as an important and innovative producer in the country. In 2012 he was awarded 'Wwinemaker of the year' by the Hungarian Wine Academy. This evening of wine tasting is complemented with a gourmet five course menu.
