Maximum temperatures on Friday afternoon were expected to be at 30 to 33 °C , which will fall no lower than 19-24 °C late in the evening.

Hungarians are less satisfied with their quality of life than the EU average, according to a survey by Eurostat, the EU statistics office. Those interviewed were asked to rank various aspects of their life on a scale of one to ten. Overall, the EU average was 7.1, while that for Hungary was 6.2, level with Greece, Cyprus and Portugal.
