"Multimedia, the local promoter of Ben Hur Live show in Budapest announce with regret that due to financial failure of the producers, the German Art-Concerts GmbH, the spectacles of 27/28 February as well as the other European shows will be postponed. Bonfire Night in Budapest went with a real bang on 5 November 2009. British Ambassador to Hungary Mr. Greg Dorey (pictured), guest of honour at this XpatLoop.com event, started proceedings with an informative and entertaining speech about this UK tradition, aka Guy Fawkes Night, to a packed house at the local InterContinental Hotel.

Around 250 guests, a mixture of expats and Hungarians, attended the 12th annual Budapest Burns Supper at the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal on Saturday evening. The traditional Scottish event marks the birth, life and work of Rabbie (Robert) Burns, who would have been 250 this year, and has become known as the national bard of Scotland.

As these snapshots show, this Xmas event treated the lads from Budapest Celtic and a bunch of other expats to karaoke at The Caledonia and then live music at Roctogon basement club, both on Mozsár street in the 6th district of Budapest.
